Summary: Solid USB
Comment: I bought 2 of these. I like the size and weight of them and the fact you can mount the base to your desk. I used a mounting putty so I didn't damage the surface of the desk and that has worked well. The 2nd one I bought came with the side cap laying in the package but it was easily glued back on.

Summary: Greatest USB Hub I've ever used; Seriously!!!
Comment: Granted, I've only had this product for a short time, but it bar none the greatest USB hub I've ever used (and I've gone through plenty).
There is no noticeable loss is transfer speed between hooking my external hard drive directly to my Macbook Pro or through the hub (even with 6 out of 7 ports being used and 2 simultaneously for external hard drives; I'm a college student so I need a lot of storage). Also, I tried to transfer data to one of the external hard drives, without power hooked into the hub, and the transfer speeds were still impressive. I haven't used a USB 1.1 & USB 2.0 device at the same time yet but the box says it can handle both simultaneously as well.
The hub is also "heavy" enough so that dangling wires won't move it around my desk much. You do however, have to keep it in the base to get the extra weight. The plus side to this is if you need to bring the hub with you, it in itself is not heavy and can easily fit in your pocket if need be.
The only complaint I had was that the blue light on top is pretty bright and keeping my laptop on in my bedroom at night poses a problem. However, this is easily fixed with black electrical tape which not only blocks the light well, but blends in with the casing.
Overall, I'd give this product an A; no A+ because I had to find electrical tape to block the light in a "fashionable" way.

Summary: So far so good
Comment: I just recently purchased this item and in fact just got it in the mail today. I searched for a while trying to find a USB hub that was Vista compatible. I had read about some people running into compatibility issues with their Vista and USB hubs but seeing that over 200 people had already bought this item and assuming that at least 50% of these people may have had Vista, I went ahead and bought this.
So far I haven't had any problems with the hub. I simply plugged the USB it came with to the port on my laptop (which only cam with two USB ports) and the computer recognized it and installed the required drivers automatically. No problem.
As soon as the hub was recognized, I attached my mouse, two printers (one laser and one deskjet), and a jump drive to it and they were all instantly recognized. I used all four to see how they work and they work just fine.
The user manual that comes with the hub does not even mention Vista among the System Requirements (perhaps printed before Vista) but the packaging on the outside clearly states it supports Windows Vista as well as Mac OS X or higher.
Some reviewers have written about their irritation with the blue light but I actually think it is pretty cool. It is a good hub (so far) and works just fine.

Summary: Awesome!
Comment: Mounted this baby with just a drill. They thought of a pad to increase friction so you can mount in vertically too ^^!!lol. you can slide it out to double-check your connections. It's VERY VERY well designed and crafty. Sturdy Metal. 7 hubs. For $30, this feels like 200% (I could see this selling for $90). Great product! Makes my desktop computer connections smooth and clutterfree!
