Summary: Way way overpriced - there r betters ones for less
Comment: As an earlier poster pointed out, this thing looks cool but is not functional. This is especially true if you use it over a few weeks. The Harmony One is much better as it feels like a remote even after some time. This remote is awkward when it comes to changing channels etc since you have to press the "123" icon to get to the number screen. Harmony one may look less cool, but there is not need for these steps. After using it for a month, I wish I had bought another Harmony One instead of Harmony 1000 at twice the price.
Also, they tell you you can control components behind doors - and in fine print, they add that a seperate purchase is needed for that. Sneaky.

Comment: Ive used logitech products for a long time... I have never been disappointed and this is no exception...
Do you really need this remote? No you dont! but if you are reading this you are probably like me (kind of a showoff).... and if you already spent 3000+ on your home theater get this!

The remote itself performs very well, but the screen is very suceptible to getting all smudgy.... I also had to buy an invisible shield for it (www.invisibleshield.com)

Id also like to point out that if you want a smaller (more confortable to the grip) and just as effective remote get a harmony one! (I got one for my living room) its cheaper and features also a touch screen!
hope this helps!

Summary: Mac Users Beware
Comment: UPDATE (replacement remote received): After HOURS on the phone with Level 2 tech support using two different Harmony 1000's and TWO different Macs with up-to-date software, I can conclude that the Harmony 1000 DOES NOT work on the Mac (Leopard 10.5.4). We were finally able to get it working using Windows Vista installed on a Mac using Parallels.

(earlier review)

I design software for a living, so I'm very pretty comfortable with software and consumer electronics. I spent half a day trying to get this thing to just be recognized by my computer! After it tried to update its own firmware, neither my Mac nor my PC could detect it. Logitech tech support -- after 3 calls and 3 hours of my life wasted -- concluded the remote, was in fact, dead. So they offered to replace it for free. I sent it in. Now they're saying they have no stock to send out replacement units for their customers who received dead-on-arrival remotes, and that I have to wait an additional 3-6 weeks on top of the four it's already been! I've always been a little shocked at how buggy Harmony remotes are, but not to have enough stock on hand to service your clients to whom you ship broken units in the first place is really the height of incompetent customer service. In theory, this is a great product, but my experience has been anything but great. I just want my money back....

Summary: not the best remote but one of the top ones
Comment: good product, dose teh job but there is some software issues, it dosn't work with my PS3 (playstation 3) even thou it says it dose, sometimes it freezes and you have to take out the battary to reset it (there is no reset button on the back of the remote) you can program this product to turn on the tv and change to the channal you like, well it dosnt do that... becuase i own a sony brivia 46" and it takes sometime for the tv to turn on, you can put a delay for the change channel command but still it dosnt change to the channel you want... hey but over all it looks good, it works fine and its a product that controls up to 15 items from remote controled lights, tv, really old tv's to about everything of over 750.000 other products...

hope this review helped
