Comment: THE LOGITECH 1000 ADVANCED UNIVERSAL REMOTE IS A PRETTY HANDY REPLACEMENT FOR MULTIPLE REMOTES FOR MY "HOME THEATRE" SYSTEM...I USED TO HAVE MY REMOTES VELCROED TO THE WALL NEXT TO MY EASY CHAIR IN THE LIVING ROOM...A FRIEND CAME OVER AND SAID, "MY GOD MAN, THIS LOOKS LIKE A COUCH POTATOES WET DREAM!"...I HAD TROUBLE WITH THE ORIGINAL UNIT THAT WAS SENT TO ME, BUT THE TELEPHONE SUPPORT PEOPLE SENT ME A BRAND NEW ONE (AFTER ABOUT A 10 DAY WAIT)SO THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT...PROGRAMMING THE NEW ONE WAS A REAL NIGHTMARE (BUT IF YOU'RE BETTER WITH A 'PUTER THAN I AM, AND WHO ISN'T, THEN YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE FEW, IF ANY, PROBLEMS)...IT IS SIMPLE TO USE, WHEN YOU PICK IT UP IT COMES ON AND ASKS YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND THEN IT DOES IT FOR YOU...EVERY REMOTE I HAVE IS PROGRAMMED INTO IT (INCLUDING THE LASER DISC PLAYER THAT I BOUGHT ABOUT 12 YEARS AGO...HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE YOU SAW A LASER DISC???)...THE UNIT LOOKS PRETTY SLICK SETTING IN IT'S LITTLE CHARGING STAND AND IT WORKS AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS...ALL IN ALL...I'D GIVE IT A THUMBS UP

Comment: This remote is easy to setup and pretty user friendly. There are a few bugs, the one that gives the most problem is things not changing when using the activities. Seems it doe not change the input on the stereo mostly but after using the help button ot correct the mistake it has learned and get the setting right more than not now. The touch screen get some getting use to but is very responsive. All in all a great universal remote. One of the best things is you can program up to three rooms.

Comment: The button response is a little slower than the original mfg remotes. But, its better than the pile of remotes I had to sort through. The user interface is very easy to use and errors on the side of being a little too helpful for me. But, my wife and kids love it!
I HIGHLY recommend the wireless extender if you are going to use this remote. If you use more than two devices (amp, tv, pvr box, etc) to accomplish a task, the remote takes awhile to send all the IR commands and you get tired of pointing the remote in one direction while it runs the macro.

Comment: I've been using the Logitech Harmony 1000 for over a year now and overall this product works well. Programming is a freeze and the remote navigation is very simple. The only issue that I've run into are random lock-up's where the remote stops working for no reason. When this happens the only way to correct is to remove the battery allowing the remote to reboot itself. However, I am happy to report that a recent firmware update has just about corrected the issue. So the key is to stay up to date with all software and firmware updates for this remote. As others have reported it does take some getting use to as the touch screen is great but there is a learning curve if you are use to TV surfing without looking at the remote. This remote is expensive no doubt but worth it as once you have every device configured/programmed the way you want there is no turning back.
