Comment: After two unsuccessful purchases of low cost units which could not control my Panasonic DVD/VCR recorder, the 880 has successfully replaced three of my four remotes. My PS3 Playstation is a blue tooth device & cannot be controlled by a universal IR controller although I do use the 880 to setup my TV and AV receiver to use the PS3.
The initial setup took about 8 hours plus 5 phone calls and 1 email to customer service. I would rate both the phone and online customer service 5 stars. The tech reps were very capable, courteous and patient. They were able to answer all my questions and solve each problem that was presented to them. The computerized setup that is linked to the Logitech website is great. The techs have access to each unit's configuration file and can make changes that you can immediately download to your remote from your computer. There was a error with Logitech's database for my DVD/VCR and they were able to correct my file and notify me by email within eight hours to upload the corrected file to my 880 and eliminate the problem. Many of the initial problems I had were due to my lack of understanding of the features of the unit and were easily corrected by the calls to customer service. The extreme flexibility and capability of the unit which make it somewhat difficult to setup at first are wonderful once you learn the system and want to fine tune the configuration. The unit also has the capability of overriding the Logitech database and being manually configured to duplicate any function of your original remote. This learned data is permanently stored in your computer configuration file. Like the old adage says,"if all else fails, read the directions". I found a number of answers to questions and problems on the website which is very helpful.
The charging station works great - there is absolutely no problem placing the unit in the cradle. I normally place the remote in the station overnight and have had no problem with battery life. The motion sensors that light up the buttons when the remote is picked up is a another great feature. All the buttons are programmable and if you require more functions, additional screens with eight buttons per screen can be programmed.
My only complaint about the unit is the small buttons which are not made for an adult male's hands. Button location is also not very user friendly, but that problem is diminishing the more I use it. If Logitech would offer a hardware upgrade with larger buttons, I would give the unit a 5+ star rating.
Not all functions work every time the unit is used. I suspect that it is due to operator error because the remote needs to be properly aimed at the controlled devices for the few seconds that it is sending out a sequential string of commands. This is easily corrected with the built in Help function or with buttons pre-programmed to correct typical problems.

Comment: Logitech Harmony 880 Advanced Universal Remote Control (Black)
We wanted one remote for our TV, satellite receiver and DVD/VCR player. This remote works for the TV and receiver as advertised, and I like its features, but I'm going to need customer service to get it to operate the DVD/VCR player, and to put in favorites on the remote screen.
What I don't like about it is that I have to point the remote directly at the screen to get the channels to change, and it often backs up to the previous channel when I am inputting the new channel.

Summary: hard to set up
Comment: I got it and had a sony blue-ray and and sony lcd plus a comcast cable box. The tv kept on being turn off when switching from box to dvd player. To many button to chage settings. Could be simpler. Be aware....poor support

Summary: loving it so far
Comment: I've owned this remote for a couple of weeks, and so far so good. I've got a small Samsung TV, a Magnavox DVD player, and an AT&T Uverse DVR box in my office, and it's doing great with all three. It's taking some getting used to since all the buttons I was used to being right there are now sometimes a little hidden, but I haven't even attempted to customize that yet. Anyway, I'm enjoying it and will probably eventually purchase another one for the living room.
