Summary: works well- buttons don't light up
Comment: Nice computer interface-makes it easy to program. However, the button are really tiny, and they DON'T light up, which makes using this in the dark impossible. I don't understand why a company would make something this difficult to use in the dark.

Summary: One Remote to Rule Them All
Comment: I have put four remotes in storage now thanks to this great device. I truly love it. Was able to use it for everything and even a special setup to use volume on TV rather than receiver until new speakers arrived. Outstanding in every way. Programming is nice via the client and USB connection. Controls DVR great (Scientific Atlantic Cable Box for Time Warner) as well as Xbox 360, Pioneer DVD player and Onkyo receiver. Able to add any button that existed on the original remotes and more.

Summary: functionally good but ergonomics suck
Comment: The remote works well, is easy to setup and understand but my god what were they thinking with the ergonomics. The control buttons are tiny and hard to get to w the thumb or forefinger. The buttons on the bottom are difficult to use one handed. The remote itself is unstable sitting on a table so it's difficult there also.

Summary: Great in theory - not so great in reality
Comment: I loved the idea of being able to download a full set of device functionality directly into the device from the Logitech website. This ends the frustration we've all experienced trying to coax a "universal" remote to do much of anything but turn a device on or off. I was able to locate the detailed commands for all my devices, including functionality for the nearly impossible-to-find Olevia brand of TVs.
Unfortunately, it didn't work very well. Although the device appeared to have every conceivable function for the TV loaded once I completed the download process, most of them either didn't work or worked only some of the time, even with a fresh battery charge. It was frustrating seeing all those functions on the little screen but not being able to actually make them work.
A main reason I bought this remote is because Tivo refuses to build in functionality for newer models - such as Olevia TVs - into even its brand-new remotes (even though Olevia makes fantastic TVs). This device resembles the Tivo remote, which even though it won't operate ANY Olevia functions such as on/off or volume, is almost a masterpiece of usability in terms of its layout. With just a little practice, you can use the Tivo remote without looking at it, partly because of its raised silicone keys of various shapes that are very easy to fine without having to look at the remote. With this Harmony remote, however, there are two problems:
1. Poor key design. They basic function keys are so close together and so indistinguisable by touch, you have to look at the device to use it, and even then it's hard not to press the skip forward button when you intended to press the fast forward button. I'm talking about the keys on the bottom half of the device... they are pretty poorly designed.
2. Difficult-to-use screen. The more complex functions appear on the lighted screen at the top of the device. They are all there, but in my case you had to scroll through seven screens to find the funtion you want. By the time you do all that, you might as well just use the remotes that came with the device, because chances are it has dedicated function keys you can find immediately.
I understand it's difficult to put so much functionality in one device, but the fact remains this remote is just not easy to use. It's more of a toy, albeit one that looks sleek and elegant. I suppose with a LOT of practice you could learn to use more than the basic functions by touch, but most people wouldn't be willing to go through that learning curve.

Summary: More than expected
Comment: This remote is by far the best device I could ever dream of. The day i received mine, I realized the motion sensor wasn't working. I called logitech and 3 days later, I received my brand new remote. Fantastic customer service. This remote is more than anyone can ask for and is super easy to set up and maintain.
