Summary: Successfully replaced all my other remotes
Comment: This remote works as advertised. I went from having to use three different "universal" remotes to using just this one remote. It's fairly easy to set up, and incredibly easy to use. Overall, it has made it significantly easier to use my home theater/components, and well deserves four stars for that, despite some of the minor issues that I've had.
I had some problems getting the remote to update properly when it was connected to my computer through a USB hub. But a very friendly and professional Logitech customer service rep had me move it to a different USB port, and it worked fine from there.
The first refurbished remote that I received from Amazon wouldn't recharge properly on it's base... but it was pretty easy and fast to exchange that remote for another one. The new remote hasn't had any problems with charging properly.
And some of the buttons (particularly fast forward and play) are not in the most intuitive or easy to reach positions on the remote. This really only comes into play when I'm fast forwarding through commercials on my DVR, though.

Summary: Awesome bargin!
Comment: I bought this remote after using the Harmony 680 for a couple years and I must say this whole line of Harmony remotes are the best universal remotes made period. Everything is setup on your computer, you plug in your remote and several minutes later you are up and running! I don't think I could live without this remote!

Summary: Flexible, but not so tactile
Comment: This remote performs just as well as the other Harmony remotes, but is a bit more powerful and flexible because of the LCD screen. The rechargeable battery is also a great feature. I was replacing batteries monthly with my former Harmony 688, which gave me several years of good use.

The major con for me with this remote (and the reason it lost a star for me) is the button layout. Compared to other Harmony remotes, buttons are not easy to "feel" in the same way a touch typist might approach a computer keyboard. Without looking, all you can feel are identical rows of square buttons with just a few "nubs" to guide you. Ditto on the silver ring. It is very easy to push the wrong button anywhere on the remote. Compared to my former Harmony 688, which was a tactile dream, the 880 needs a lot more looking before you push buttons. I have waited about a month since getting this remote, hoping things would get easier, but I am still just as clumsy. It's a simple issue of design, and you should know whether this matters to you or not.

Above all, this is a Harmony remote. For the money and ease of use, there is no other product out there that does what all of Logitech's remotes do. Well worth the money if you have more than two components in your setup.

What impressed me the most is Harmony's support. I have been a loyal customer since before they were acquired by Logitech, and a recent experience with this remote leads me to believe that the quality of their service has not declined. I purchased a refurb 880 and found that the Channel Up button did not work. After contacting support by e-mail and going through standard troubleshooting procedures, they authorized a replacement within just over a week's time. Imagine my surprise when I received a brand new, full retail package of a Harmony 880... and they said I could keep my original remote and charging cradle until they no longer worked! They do prevent further updates to the original remote, but still... this is incredible.

So, in conclusion - if you have made it this far or are just skimming: this is a full-fledged member of Logitech's fantastic line of Harmony remotes. For the features you get, the price is very reasonable. But pick the remote whose features and button layout suit you best. For me, the layout of the buttons on this remote is not ideal and seems hard to push correctly without looking. All Harmony remotes are fantastic when combined with the Harmony programming software, which is all backed by great support when you need it.

Summary: Difficult to configure and does NOT work with many devices.
Comment: I bought it thinking it would be really easy to configure and that almost any device with remote control will work with it. From 10 devices that I have only one was on their data base. And the manual configuration is very difficult. I would rather bought a much cheaper universal remote control instead of this one that says it is sooo wonderful.
If you are thinking to buy it, I recommend to try it before with a friend or store and check if your devices really work with it. It is too expensive for what suppose it does.
