Summary: Best Remote Control Ever
Comment: I bought this remote control for my boyfriend and weeks later he's still talking about it. He had a few issues setting it up with all of his electronics but soon worked it out. It was not too difficult for him to use and he loves it.

Summary: A Dream Come True
Comment: After a year of having my wife tell me she can't turn on the TV because she doesn't understand the remotes (we have a TV remote, A/V Receiver remote, Xbox360 remote, DVD remote, Comcast remote etc) we finally found a solution. We had a harmony remote in the past that broke on us, but we didn't get enough use out of it because it seems more complicated than the 3 remotes we had then and didn't do everything we needed it to do.
This remote is perfect! It has all the buttons we need on it and the screen is big enough and has enough blank spots that it works well for us. It reminds me a bit of my Tivo remote so I liked my Tivo remote and enjoyed having a similar remote in my hands.
The rechargeable batteries a HUGE HUGE HGUE plus! We try to be as green as possible, and not having to replace batteries is a must these days. We only have to charge the remote about every 2-4 weeks, so we only pull the base out when we need to charge the remote.
A few of the buttons of course could have been put in different places, but it will never be perfect unless you can make your own "perfect" custom remote. This is as close as you can get to having the perfect remote.
If you are the wife/husband that can't figure out all the remotes and want to only learn one remote, then this remote is for you! If you are the wife/husband that is looking to stop hearing your significant other complain they don't know how to turn the TV on, then this remote is for you to help solve the problem!
Don't pass it up, its really worth it!

Summary: great product new, but not refurbished
Comment: The Harmony 880 remote is an excellent product, but beware the refurbished version. I have had to return two of these because they were broken "out of the box." The first one had physical damage to the screen, so I shipped it back, and when the replacement arrived it had several buttons that only worked occasionally. I was forced to give up and buy new. The refurbished ones were in the "official logictech refurbished" brown cardboard box, I don't know if that means they came directly from Logictech or not...Amazon paid for the return shipping, no problems there.....My advice: shop around for best price on a new 880.

Summary: As good as I thought, but....
Comment: It took a bit of time to tweak the settings. But it's done and does all I need it to do with a hodgepodge of AV equipment. All controls I want, and none I don't want.
Feels a bit flimsy.
I at first bought the refurb for 75 clams, but the + volume didn't work. Called Amazon for a return, but seems at the time, a month ago, I bought the last of the refurb... and now a month later they have them again.
In researching the + volume button problem, I found a handful of posts on Logitech's forum about the button being bad from the factory, and failing earlier. I also read that the refurbs were for the battery charger platform. So I guess I got one with the improved battery charger interface, but no one checked the + volume button at the factory during the "refurb" of the unit I 1st received.
The refurb did look completely brand new, as in never touched or used.
It's not like they were passing off bottom of the barrel pass throughs.
Amazon easily took my return, and refunded payment after they received the box. In the mean time I bought the new one Amazon sells for 145 clams.
So at least all the setup work I did on the 1st one wasn't a waste since it's all saved on your Logitech software / account.
How many times have your cursed the layout of the stock remote, and the crowd of all the unneeded buttons on these silly factory remotes?????
Besides making the list of the A/V equipment, also make a list of your most used buttons on your stock remote.
After the initial set up and testing of the remote from the software wizard, take some time to learn what you can do in the software, all the things you can change, and you can in a few hours have everything tweaked the way you want it and the features you most use easily accessible on this remote.
+'s
As flexible as I hoped for.
Software takes a little investment to learn, but well worth it. You can do lots and it's all backed up.
Rechargeable.
A bargin at the refurb price if you get one that works. Still worth it at the discounted prices I found on Amazon (145 clams, compared to street price locally to me, 200 - 250.
-'s
Battery doesn't seem to last long enough for a Saturday of being a couch potato and channel surfing. Save your standard TV / Cable remote for this basic function.
Buttons feel a bit flimsy.
Kinda slick in my large and callous hands. Could use some "traction" pads on the case.

Summary: Bought as a replacement...
Comment: We had received the Harmony 880 remote control as a Christmas gift 3 years ago. After 3 years of excellent service, it gave up the ghost. Going back to using 3 different remotes, I was so happy to see amazon had refurbished Harmony 880 on sale. And at a price of $74.00 and free shipping, how could I go wrong. I have no qualms of buying a refurbished remote, when they are refurbished, each is inspected indivually , so you know you have a better then new product. So anyone who is considering buying this refurbished product...DO IT !!! Its a great deal....
