Summary: Great universal remote
Comment: I have used a couple of bargain universal remotes and I was always reluctant to purchase the high dollar models for fear of complicated set up and maintenance. Logitech has set the bar for universal remotes. The set up is very easy and the remote allows you to set up activities which allow one button change over to different home theater set ups.
The radio signal method has spoiled me to no end. I cannot use a normal remote because I have to point it at the device. The logitech can control the components from just about anywhere you would want. I have remote speakers set up outside and I can control my iPod from outside (about 30 feet from the receiver and through a couple of walls.)

I have owned this product for about 13 months and I can appreciate the reviewers complaints about the glitches. However, the 890 can be updated via the web and simple USB interface. Lately I have had no problems with the remote.

MY ONE COMPLAINT: When trying to charge the remote, I have difficulty getting a solid connection to the charging station. It can be very frustrating and I have not found a tried and true method for connection every time. Sometimes I am forced to place an additional object on top of the remote to provide the weight necessary to create the connection to the charging station.

Summary: Harmony 890 Easy to use, but some quirks
Comment: Logitech Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote ControlThe remote is extremly easy to set-up for daily use, i.e. watching TV, listening to radio tuner, watching DVDs. There are a couple of quirks that I haven't resolved yet. When switched to a different menu to use PMP, volume function does not work which forces me to switch between menus. My audio receiver has option to play iPod, but haven't been able to set that function using one button. I still have to select the device AVR, then page through the menus to select the iPod function. Also, at least once it locked up where I had to remove the battery and "reboot".

Summary: As advertised...AWESOME!!!!!!!
Comment: Wanted to avoid the high cost of a hard wired remote extender. I paid $150.00 to set up the home theater in my family room with a hard wire system. This seemed too good to be true! State of the art remote and wireless RF extender? I was ready to pay $399.00 at Ultimate Electronics...paid half on-line.

Set up was a little complicated but the system works beautifully. A++++

Summary: All you could want
Comment: Not only is the product everything that it purports to be but the customer service was fantastic. I had a problem with my old BOSE surround sound, which uses RF not IR and the customer service people downloaded additional software to make it work. It is easy to use and feels good to to the touch as well.
