Summary: Dead On Arrival----- UPDATE!!!!! Love IT!!!
Comment: It did not control anything after entering all of the information..spent several hours loading information for 2 HDTVs, 2 DVDs, 1 AV receiver, 2 Direct TV Tuners (One DVR)...updating many times...calling support...even they had not encountered the problems I had...they resorting to see if my digital camera would see the infrared...didn't... I am very computer savvy and this thing was DOA and I returned it...I'll try the Harmony Advanced One and if that doesn't work...I'm giving up on Logitech.

UPDATE----I finally received a good one (the other one might have been okay but the tech person might have been new) and it is the easiest remote to use after I set it up...I am not sure I could turn on (or especially my wife) the TV anymore without it... I press one button and the TV, satellite and AV receiver turn on...and all turn off when I hit the "turn off button". In any case, this one is 2 thumbs UP!!

Summary: Sweet remote, for anyone who can follow instruction
Comment: The 890 is definitely a great remote for being user friendly, and though no matter what you do.... there's bound to be issues, the remote helps you solve them. Let's say you turn on the system with the remote, and your kids turn off parts of the system by hand (not with remote), the next time you push an activity on the remote, you don't get what you were desiring. By simply pushing the "help" button, the remote asks you a couple questions, and your off and running again.

Haven't tried the Zwave technology yet, but am planning on putting a plug in module on my subwoofer, as it doesn't turn on/off with the system currently.

Summary: Excellent Remote, Great Value
Comment: In looking at universal remotes, I was skeptical that one remote could meet all of the specialty needs of four separate remote controls. Wow, was I wrong!

I have a 52" LCD mounted above my fireplace and my A/V components in a cabinet 10 feet away and to the side from the TV. I purchased this remote because it came with the IR extender. Although the documentation that came with the remote was poor, the Logitech discussion thread provided excellent advice. Set up was a breeze and I found the software easy to use.

This remote performs as advertised and the factory remotes for my components are in the drawer for good. This thing not only does what you need it to do, it is easily customizeable to meet your personal tastes.

On top of it all I was fortunate to buy it from another seller on Amazon that gave me a price signficantly less than the Amazon price. I couldn't be happier with the product and the service.

Summary: Love the Harmony Remote
Comment: Love the Harmony Remote.

This is my 3rd one. Set up takes a while to get it just right, but well worth it.

My only complaint is that the remote has trouble switching from the different inputs sometimes. On my Pioneer switching from Video 1 to Video 3. on my Samsung switching from HDMI to Component (Wii). Other than that I love the Harmony Remotes.

Summary: This is a GREAT remote, particularly for the money.
Comment: I have 2 Harmony 880's and liked them, but hated having to point at the IR repeater everytime. This remote was on sale and has turned into a great unit. With the supplied RF to IR unit, I rarely have any missed commands anymore. The range is also excellent.
For those who don't understand why this cost more than an typical remote, this unit uses radio frequency to send commands instead of a an infra-red signal, like typical remotes. This allows me to put my components behind cabinet doors. Behind the doors, there is a separate unit that looks like a Logitech mouse/keyboard reciever. There are wires that go from that unit to each components IR sensor. Each wire has 2 IR heads for a total of 8 components on 4 wires. The the commands are sent quickly and reliably.
The only downside, is when you make a change to the commands/components, you also have to connect the RF/IR unit to the computer to update that followed by the 890 remote.
