Summary: Logitech Gets It Right
Comment: I have bought a few universal remotes over the last 5 years or so--all of which failed to do 100% of the tasks I needed them to do. This remote is fantastic. Very easy to set up and even easier to use. I believe the majority of those who rated this remote negatively because of software or programming problems; are actually having difficulty due to computer issues. Although I am sure some of the problems can also be blamed on bad rewriteable memory within some of the remotes. I have reprogrammed my remote 4 or 5 times as I tried different hookup configurations and it has worked flawlessly each time.

Summary: Awesome unit-but be prepared to spend some time tweaking it
Comment: This unit is engineered really beautifully. Everything is very intuitive. It does take some considerable time to set up properly if you have a multiple component system like I do (TV, HD DRV Cable box, AV Receiver, Blu-Ray DVD, Tivo). The effort is worth it, it simplifies every operation and is so programmable to do what you want. Go to the forums (google: 'harmony one thread', 'harmony one forum')about it to read how others have managed integration issues etc. and for nifty downloadable icons for your Favorite channels (google: 'harmony one icons').
You must keep tweaking it to get things just right, so plan to take some time. The worst thing would be to do this setup part in a hurry. There is a learning curve you have to go through. This product really impresses me. It solves the problem of multiple remotes and you can teach it to do about anything. Hats off to Logitech.

Comment: If you are looking for a serious solution to your complex setup this is it! The flexibility and options available with this remote are phenomenal. But be ware, this comes at a price... a rather complex setup and some difficulty in learning non-branded devices.
My harmony has reduced the chunk on my tv table from 5 remotes to one and furthermore has made the process of switching from watching cable box to DVD a walk in the park!
If you are looking for a serious solution, this is IT!

Comment: Just like the video says...a few questions on line, and your in good hands. If something goes wrong, it tries to fix itself. What a great remote. I'm getting one for my parents (who are seniors) They have three remotes just to watch TV. This thing lights up in low light so you can see all the buttons. I love the touch screen too. If you can read, the remote does all the rest.

Summary: Maybe not for Grandpa...
Comment: I've been living with this remote now for over a month and, for the most part, have been very pleased. Look and feel are very good and set up, even for someone who isn't particularly computer literate, was very easy and well explained. My problem came when I wanted to watch TV and it would consistently choose the wrong input for watching TV. After running it through the software's troubleshooting routine a few times I almost gave up. I did finally go a little further into the troubleshooting and figure it out and am now really pleased. I caution you that they advertise this as the remote that your Grandfather can understand - on the face of it very true but if something doesn't work right the first time many Grandpas will never figure it out! The short version is that if it works right out of the box great but if it doesn't and needs tweaking beyond something simple it will definitely help if you're good with gadgets/computers.
