Summary: No more remote hunting
Comment: This remote replaced the 5 that I was using for my entertainment system. Not only does it save on batteries but it saves time looking for remotes that have mysteriously disappeared.
PROS: It can automatically program itself based on the make & model of the equipment being used. There is also an option to learn commands from any IR remote to customize learned/programmed settings (put the TV volume on your cable/satellite settings).
CONS: The display cannot show long names and customizing preprogrammed labels isn't possible. If you add a function and want to delete it later you need to erase the entire remote program and reinstall it.

Summary: Excellent Universal Remote
Comment: This remote is everything I could ask for - easy to program, easy to use, and it controls all of my devices. I have a very small setup, but one of the things I needed this remote to control was my Xbox 360, and I wasn't sure if it would. I waited until I got a good deal on one of these and picked it up - sure enough it worked on the Xbox 360! Knowing how well it works I would easily pay full price for this unit, even though it is a bit on the expensive side. I am glad I bought this little remote, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Useful but a battery hog.
Comment: We have had this remove now several years. The setup is fairly easy. But we have found that we use it mainly to turn the TV, audio, tivo, vcr, dvd on in the right combination for the viewing we want to do.
But after getting them on, I find I go the to remote control for the device I am using (VCR, DVD, TIVO)as they are better configured to handle the commands.
The Harmony device Play/Fast Forward etc buttons are inconveniently located at the bottom of the remote, so if you hold the remote in the middle where it is designed to be held, you need to use your second hand to push these controls.
It also seems to use up batteries (4 AAA) quickly. Tonight even new batteries don't bring my remote back to life.

Summary: Works great with everything so far
Comment: I had been trying to get my Hannspree LCD TV to work with my Dish PVR and Onkyo remote controls, but could never find the right codes (despite contacting everyone and doing a lot of on-line research). My wife kept complaining about all of the remote controls cluttering up the media room.
Got the Harmony 659 through Amazon at just under $50 (unbelievable price) and it recognizes and controls everything, including the LCD, PVR, receiver and DVD player. I am still trying to map keys for some of the PVR functions, but most worked fine after the initial on-line configuration.
One negative for Dish PVR users is that the PVR function keys (play, pause, fast forward, reverse, etc.) are at the bottom of the Harmony 659, rather than in the middle like we are used to. We will get accustomed to this eventually, but it is difficult sometimes in a dark room to remember what is what.
All in all, a great perfoemer.

Summary: Harmony 659
Comment: This product does all that it intended to do. The set up is very easy and while in the program as you input your data it makes complete sense. I did have to call ttech support once as I showed my age (not reading ) a step, the wait was short and direct. I would highly recommend this product .
