Summary: Everything I had hoped for
Comment: I bought this TV after seeing a friend's 42" Samsung. Samsung is one of the most well-known manufacturers of DLP TVs and that was what made me look at these in the first place. In the interest of writing a short review I'm going to do a quick pro/con/conclusion:
Pros
- Very bright picture
- Great color depth
- No pixel spacing like in LCDs
- LOTS of inputs (and input names are customizable in the menu interface)
- Very light (as in pounds)
- SlimDepth
- Great for gaming (14,400rpm color wheel eliminates image ghosting and artifacts)
- Native HD resolution
Cons
- Not a very wide viewing angle, make sure your couches are within 30 degrees left or right of center or the picture will fade just a bit
- Only 720p
- Control buttons on the side of the TV make it hard sometimes to see what button you're pushing without using the remote
Conclusion
Despite the cons listed (which are really nothing, I'm just a picky tech geek) this is a great TV. Samsung DLPs are high quality, look great, and will last a long time. 720p HDTV is amazing to look at regardless if I put it in pro or con. If you purchase this TV I guarantee you will like what you get. I am very happy with my purchase.

Summary: Samsung HDTV is superior
Comment: Before buying this set, I had already checked out a number of HD sets by going to many of the typical big brick and mortar stores, and found the Samsung to be a superior set. When the price fit my budget, I pounced, and have not been sorry at all. The DLP engine is really worry free so far, and the picture is beautiful. My living room is a bit dim in the first place but we have not had any problems seeing the image during the day or with lights on in the room. The color is rich and bright, and the 720p resolution is fantastic. I had previously looked at a Sony rear projection side by side, but the Samsung set was superior in color, contrast, brightness and apparent resolution. LCD really does produce the "Screendoor" effect, but this DLP engine does away with that. Images are smooth, resolution is crisp, and the picture is fantastic. My standard DVD player looks great on this set without doing any upconverting. And broadcast HD signals- well, I just watched the Steelers' first preseason game in HD- WOW! Get this set!
