Summary: Turns off randomly alot after owning for a month
Comment: The unit has a terrible picture even with a HD source and has begun to turn itself off randomly up to 20 times a day. Plan no contacting Samsung Monday but am concerned after reading several sites with same unit and no help at all was given to the people by Samsung. I really wish i had not blown my money on this lemon!!!

Summary: great tv for the price
Comment: This tv is great in everyway just like other reviewers have stated. The reason i gave it 4 stars was because when i got mine, it kept shutting itself off because it was overheating. I checked the exhaust vents on the lamp and noticed the vents were not in place and somehow got disconnected from the manufactur. This is not amazons fault and it is samsungs fault. I reconnected everything and the tv runs perfect with no overheating problems now. Xbox 360 looks awesome on this tv.

Summary: Better than my Panasonic CRT Rear Projection
Comment: I bought this to replace a Panasonic 53" CRT Rear Projection 1080i HDTV that broke after 4 years (fried convergence chip). I heard that this issue is irrelevant with DLP technology, but I will have to replace the lamp on a DLP every 8000 hours or so. The overall picture quality on the Samsung DLP is much better than my last TV. The whites are much brighter; however, the blacks are not as dark. XBOX 360, when set on 720P, is incredible on this TV!

Comment: I've had the Samsung HLT5075S 50" for about 2 weeks now, and I'm very happy with the purchase. Setting it up was as easy as could be. The menu system is intuitive. My XBox360 games look AMAZING on it. I've never seen a 1080 model, so I can't compare the picture quality, but the 720 is fine by me.
Are there any downsides to the TV? I couldn't find any major problems. When you turn the TV on, it takes about 30 seconds for the picture to fully light up. The remote control also seems to respond a tad slow. But these are minor issues. Overall, this is a great TV.
A friendly reminder: lightning surges CAN travel through a cable TV connection. Make sure you get a surge protector that can also protect cable and your TV.

Comment: So far, so good. I received the tv about a week ago and I was extremely please with the price, the condition of the unit, as well as the delivery. They delivered it to my house and were extremely considerate of my schedule. The tv was as-advertised and so far I have not had any problems. The picture is outstanding. So, if you're not planning on hanging your tv on the wall I would recommend this Samsung DLP. Additionally, it's very light (about 50lbs) so it's not difficult to move or find a place to put it. I looked at the 1080p model of the same tv and didn't think that the increase in picture quality was proportional to the increase in price. I think this is the best TV of it's kind for the price. Not to mention that shipping is free and delivery is flexible and convenient. I would recommend this product and seller to anyone. Circuit City was offering the same tv for $500 more plus $60 for delivery.
