Comment: I do not own one of these, but I finally found one to look at at Circuit City. Based on all of these glowing reviews I would have bought one, but after seeing one in action there is no way I would get one.
I like the idea of the LED light engine, but the viewing angle was horible.
I was terribly disappointed by what I saw compared to other DLP sets.

Comment: I'm so glad I didn't buy a flat panel plasma or LCD. This HDTV has a better picture, consumes less energy, and will last 3 times longer than either plasma or LCD at a much better price. If you don't have to hang your TV on the wall, this is the set for you.

Summary: Fantastic TV & Great Delivery Though Eagle
Comment: The TV is fantastic. I received a HLT5687SAX model manufactured in Jan. 2008. It has no 'blue halo' or geometry issues that I noticed using test images. The TV is perfect & Amazon has been great! I also picked up an Amphenol '1080P Certified' HDMI cable to go along with the free Philips 1080P upscaling DVD player that cames with the TV.
Some people have had issues dealing with Amazon's delivery service, EGL aka Eagle. Here is the trick to getting great service from them. Use the tracking number from Amazon and track the package on Eagle's website (just google Ceva Logistics). Use their worldwide directory (link at bottom of their web page) to find your local office. Track your TV until it arrives to your local office and then call them to set-up an appointment for delivery. I got my TV in 5 days including a weekend this way. The free white glove delivery was great. The Eagle guys took the TV into my basement for me and set it on the tv stand. I plugged everything in and they waited to make sure it worked before they left. They were both friendly and courteous. I sent them off with a couple cans of pop for their trouble.
This is the first time I have purchased an expensive item like this online. Amazon was a LOT cheaper than the local big box stores. Amazon & Eagle made it great and I would definitely do it again!

Comment: Very pleased with this TV. A great design and quality throughout. Samsung has done their homework. I bought from Amazon with free delivery and I couldn't be happier. Delivered in less than a week (white glove).
Why spend more on LCD or plasma? Size matters and dollar for dollar you can't beat this rear projection. Deep blacks and bright vivid colours. I have not noticed any halo effects or other issues.
I think some reviewers issues have more to do with video source than the TV. HD video source quality varies greatly and SD is not even worth commenting on (I almost never watch SD anymore).
For HD I have Dish HD DVR + OTA antenna. The OTA is uncompressed and high quality HD video (PBS Nature for example) is absolutely stunning on this TV. Pure eye candy!
