Summary: LOVE this TV!!!!!
Comment: We researched for several months in the hope we could buy a 52" TV when our new shelving units were finally ready. When the price on Amazon finally reached affordability, we ordered the television that we were drawn to every time we went in to a Circuit City or Best Buy. With every television they had on display, this one always, to us, had the clearest, crispest picture with the best color. Now that we have one in our own home, we are NOT disappointed. Even though we have cable without HD, the picture is so amazing! And playing DVD's is so much fun with such vivid color and perfect picture quality. We are definitely not experts on televisions, and don't know most of the fancy terms for what gives you good picture quality and what causes problems, but we do know an enjoyable experience, and this television delivers just that. We don't have surround sound, either, but we have no trouble hearing just fine with the sound as it came with the TV. Some day we may get more speakers, but right now, we're very satisfied just the way it is.

Summary: more than expected
Comment: After researching this product for several months we decided it had the best picture of all the comparable LCD products - a decision that didn't come easy when comparing out of the box LCD's in electronics stores. We ordered thru Amazon and they quickly and willingly refunded two price changes lower with a simple phone call. I find this amazing.
The TV has thus far exceeded our expectations. It has captured both digital and high def channels no other LCD in our house (or our neighborhood for that matter) has captured. It also found new channels for us not even listed by our cable company, and not found on any other TV in our house. Don't ask me to explain. It is what it is. Our one and only disappointment so far has been the TV's inability to name the digital/HD channels. So you have to remember for example what channel 106-5 is. The "-5" means it's digital or HD.
We have not even tweaked the picture yet, and out of the box the colors and picture are good. We actually liked the picture on the 71 series better than the 81 series when we compared them against each other at Best Buy.
One reviewer said the owners manual left something to be desired in explaining how to tweak the colors/picture. I agree. As a suggestion I am waiting 50 hours for the typical burn in period (I'm not even sure you need to do that anymore) and then we'll use one of the good set up discs available to set our colors. We did this on our old Sony XBR and it made a big difference.
The price is right and the picture somehow seems 3D. I even inadvertently ducked yesterday when viewing a HD golf ball coming right at me. Go ahead and buy the set. You won't be sorry.

Summary: Beautiful
Comment: This TV is beautiful. I was skeptical at first about the Auto Motion 120Hz system, but have yet to experience any problems. There is a "Demo" mode, which shows Auto Motion ON and Auto Motion OFF on two halves of the TV, allowing you to compare. The Auto Motion 120Hz had a slightly improved image on my up-converted DVD source, though it'll take a Blu-ray test to be sure.
The best part was when I hooked my computer up and output at 1920x1080. My desktop looked crisp and clean, and after playing Unreal Tournament I've decided that this TV will also be my new computer monitor.
Even standard definition DVDs (played in a Samsung up-converter) look beautiful. I watched an episode of House and nearly soiled myself. The contrast, brightness, and vivid colors (I've never seen such a blue sky) were breathtaking.
I recommend this TV for any gamer, A/V geek, or lover of high quality movies. It's definitely a steal at the price, as compared to the 8-series LCD panel Samsung put out recently (tip: don't buy TVs with the LED light source - you'll get seaming.)

Summary: Good as Advertised...So Far
Comment: I've had the TV for about two weeks now. I got a like new Refurbished 5271 unit for around 1750.00. CEVA delivery... well I will Speak of them later. The TV itself was basically new. The only way I could tell it had been returned was the bag in which the remote and model book were opened. The TV itself was spotless. Already has the newest firmware installed. 120Hz picture is very sharp and clean with just the cable wire hooked up. I get about 10 free HD channels with at 1080i with my basic cable that I use primarily for the internet and for TV in the kids rooms (as of now I have SD DirecTV... will order 1080P HD DirecTV before Football starts back). This TV puts my 32 LG (1 1/2 yrs old) to shame. PS3 Blue Ray is so clear and realistic, it takes getting used to. I have had no TBE problems watching NBA playoffs or PS3 gaming UT3/GTA IV). TV took about 2 weeks to deliver after purchase(I was advised via email that they were out of like new/refurbished units). CEVA Delivery called on a Monday morning at 8am and stated that they could deliver that day between 10am-3pm. I took off work to stay home for the delivery. They called back at 12:30 and stated that the TV was not put on the truck. I ended up traveling about 30 miles to their delivery site to pick the unit up myself as to not have to take another day off. I still gave the TV 5 stars despite the poor delivery service I encountered. NOTE: I kept the box just in case of any problems and will register the product with Samsung soon.
