Comment: All I can say is "WOW!". I bought this product for hundreds under the retail price. I was almost expecting it to be used or maybe damaged for the price I got it at. To my surprise, the TV was brand new and fully functional. I'd recommend the Sharp Aquos line to anybody who wants great high-definition detail with outstanding service length. A must buy!

Comment: I have read a few of the reviews, and feel they are pretty accurate. I don't yet have any issues with the screen, inputs, or outputs. It seems to be a pretty good value for the $699.00 I paid, but much over that, look for a good deal on a 1080p. Best Buy was charging 899.00 for this unit, but that is to much money for this particular set. I made them do a price match, and left the store with it. Look at your budget and what you are going to use it for, if you can spare the few hundred extra, go with the 1080p. If 699.00 or less is your max, this set can compete with anything in it's price range. I bought it as a replacement for my livingroom CRT set(also a Sharp). Quite a dramatic improvement.

Comment: After four weeks of good use my Aquos locked up and became inoperable. The buttons on the TV and on the remote didn't work and I received no picture. Since the Sharp help line is not available at night and the manual had no suggestions to deal with this problem I had to unplug the TV to turn the unit off.
The next day we contacted the help line who referred us to a local authorized repair shop that was not too interested in our problem. When I called Sharp again my complaint was "escalated" to someone who walked us through a complicated reset procedure. Sharp advised that the problem was with the cable provider and a signal problem the provider was having with several digital channels. The cable provider has categorically denied they had anything to do with this issue so I called Sharp to try to get an idea of whether I had a defective unit. Again Sharp blamed it on the cable provider, stating they had received "several hundred calls" on this issue and were currently "in negotiations" with the provider about the problem. I was warned not to tune in the digital channel that assertedly caused the problem.
The set is functioning well now but I still don't know whether this unit has a latent defect or if the cable provider is the source of the malfunction but I will be watching the calendar to make sure the unit is operating satisfactorily when the warranty expires.

Summary: Great value
Comment: When I bought this set, it was a great bargain at $699 for a hi-def set(albeit 720p and not 1080p). Prices change and that would no longer be a great price, but Sharp Aquos quality must also be considered.
The TV is small enough and light enough to be placed on a turntable on a TV table; as such it can serve my bedroom and then pivot to cover another room also(32" is just large enough to be seen at a distance.) Overall it is an excellent set with a remote which easily selects channels and picture settings with easy pre-set buttons to save time and fumbling around.
