Summary: Beware of 18 month interest free financing
Comment: Sorry, guys. I left the star rating at 5 stars becuase I don't have a problme with the TV, but I needed to warn you about the interest free financing.
I was trying to decide between Best Buy, which had this TV for only $[...] more, or Amazon.com. I chose Amazon because they offered 18 months of Interest Free financing. The link said you could apply for the card and get a reply in as little as 30 seconds.
I filled out the application and submitted it. Then I got a message saying, "You will receive your reply by mail in 10 to 14 business days."
Now I am stuck having to wait two weeks before I can buy my TV and even then I don't know if I'll be able to buy it or not, because their 30 seconds turned into 1209600 seconds just to find out if I'm approved or not.
So I called Amazon and asked to cancel my application. They said I had to call GEMoney. I called GEMoney and the lady I spoke to said that processing was busy and couldn't speak to me right now. I asked her to cancel the application. She said, "OK, I'll do that." I then asked if the card was canceled and that there is no way I was going to get a card in the mail. She replied that it's in processing and she couldn't cancel it. I then asked why she told me she would cancel it if she couldn't. She hung up on me.
If you want your TV now, I would advise you to use your own credit card and stay away from the 18 month interest free offer. You may end up waiting weeks just to find out of you can buy the TV or not.
Thanks to GEMoney, Amazon just lost a sale. I'm going to Best Buy.

Summary: WOW- great TV
Comment: Picture is glorious. I compared the picture on this TV side-to-side with the picture on the more expensive and Consumer Reports top rated LCD TV, the Sony XBR model. I watched both screens for a long time, I could detect no difference. This TV has a 60 mhz refresh rate; the more expensive set had a 120 refresh rate. Again, I could detect no difference. There was a hockey game playing on both TVs, so I would have seen a motion blur. I am very pleased with this TV and recommend it highly. Take the money you save and buy a PS3 or stand alone Sony Blu-ray player to watch 1080p movies. Sony costs a little more, but it's worth it. The white glove delivery was fine.

Comment: I had researched HDTV for months now, and am glad i picked this to a Sharp or Panasonic. I didnt see any banding, clouding etc which some people seem to notice. Do check out the avsforum for the calibrations as the default calibrations are not perfect. Other than that, sit 10 ft away. We thought 52'' may be too big for our room (20x15), but its not that overbearing. Infact am glad i didnt get the 46 now.

Comment: This is an amazing TV that i've ever seen .... It has got everything we need .. Just worked great out of the box. No defects to mention so far... I bought it from Amazon for $2218.99 and it's cheap compared to local stores or other online sellers. I would recommend to buy from Amazon.
