Summary: LAMP LIFE OVER 3 YEARS
Comment: I bought my toshiba 52 over three years ago and am still on the original lamp. We use it approx 5 hrs every day on low setting. I am going to buy a replacement bulb now just to have it on hand since my one year manufacturers and 2 year extended warranties have ended. Is it possible
all these people who are having to replace their lamps so often are switching from low to high setting alot causing the lamps to weaken? I don't know, but it seems odd that there would be such a difference in my tv and theirs. Someone also mentioned that they were having their mirrors polished or cleaned. It seemed like the sales person at best buy had told me that the mirrors were sealed in an air type environment and wouldn't need cleaning. Does anyone know about this?

Summary: Good TV
Comment: I got this TV refurbed and I am very happy with it. The picture quality is great. Everybody keeps complaining about the lamp, but most of them probably didn't read the manual. There are certain things that shorten the life of the lamp. They probably did all of those. Because I got it refurbed, I also got a lifetime warranty (which includes lamp replacements.) It's a good T.V., you just have to know how to treat it.

Summary: It's a piece of Junk.......Do not buy!
Comment: I have had this TV for 3 years and 6 months. I am replacing the bulb for the third time. Bulbs are over $200 dollars. This TV is not so great that it is worth a new bulb every year. I use the TV less that 2 hours a day. Do the math, that is less than 1000 hours per bulb. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Summary: PROS and CONS(bulb life)
Comment: I'd say the 3 star average for this tv is about right, it does have many redeeming qualities in the picture quality and size for the price, when I bought it. BUT my first bulb went out in about 9 months of pretty heavy use. The lamp setting was on high the entire time and thankfully it was still under the manufactures warranty and when i called for a new bulb one was sent within the week. I'm reading these review and writing my own now because my next bulb just went out. This time the setting was on low the entire time and the bulb did last twice as long, so I def recommend using the low setting which looks just fine, you can barely notice really. This one is thankfully covered on my extended warranty, plus they will come out and clean the mirrors etc. After reading the fine print on my best buy extended warranty it says it only covers one bulb replacement (found one for $170) and the warranty was $400. SO thinking back I would have rather just payed the $170 whenever the bulbs went out to $400 for the first one with the warranty...but i guess if anything else goes wrong it'll be covered too, but nothing has happened yet. Hope this review helps.
