Summary: So good, it deserves a name
Comment: Now, i'm no Universal Remote guru or anything, but this has got to be my fave remote i've ever used (and trust, i've used quite a few.) I purchased it to consolidate my 4 remotes (tv, cable, blu-ray, cd player) all of which are about a foot long. I looked at the remote in the store and wasn't sure if it was going to be able to handle all the buttons for the 4 devices but it was on clearance so what the hell. After about an hour of programming it let me say.. wow. Not only does it feel good to put away all the others but the remote itself feels good. Comfortable, proper button placement (its like you don't have to look, you already know where the button is, even though you only started playing with it 15 mins ago,) enough buttons to mimmick a digital cable remote, the feature to turn numerous devices on at the same time with one button, and to top it off, it has pretty red lights. I didn't even use the pre programmed codes I did it all by the Learning Mode it has.
The only thing that almost made me hate this remote just like the past 5 or so that i've purchased, is that when I was attempting to program it at first it only learned like half the buttons I programmed. But then I thought something must be messing it up so I turned off my comp that was right next to me and bam! it's been a dream ever since. So if it does the same to you, might be getting interference from a wireless connection (wifi.)
Overall, just go for it if you need one. No reason not to. $25 bucks, can't go wrong.

Summary: Won't program my Dish Network Receiver
Comment: I read up on quite a few of the remotes and settled on this one for the positive reviews and the cost. I bought two of them in fact, one for both of my tv's. I am tired of having 4 remotes. I found out shortly thereafter that this remote won't control my Dish Network 921 receivers because they operate on UHF. This is one of their highest tech receievers as it is a DVR/HD/dual tuner receiver. I wasted more time when I called URC and they told me to call Dish Network and that they could help me make it work. They had no idea what I was talking about and they told me that they don't support 3rd party remotes (can't blame them for that). I didn't like that I was transferred to India and that the person, hearing what I needed thought that I wanted to buy another remote, but that is another story and the state of customer service most of the time these days. The problem that I have with URC is that 1. They sell a remote and their website has no compatibilty chart with common devices. Logitech does and I should've spent the extra $50 apiece and bought theirs. 2. Their customer service, knowing that they had sold a remote that wouldn't work with Dish Network, could have offered to exchange and upgrade it (at my cost of course), but they didn't offer that. My advice, buy your remotes from someone who guarantees compatibility. I have a couple of paperweights that I intend to resell used here or on Ebay or craigslist at a loss

Comment: It has a good solid feel to it as other reviewers have said. I bought it to mainly replace an ailing tv remote, but it wasn't fully compatible with my tv. I had to program each button individually. This was a little difficult since some of the old remote's buttons don't work so well. Once I did this the remote works nicely. One thing I find annoying is that the number buttons are located toward the bottom of the remote instead of nearer to the channel and volume buttons.

Comment: This was a Warranty response for this remote. It was handled in a responsible and timely manner. The faulty remote was replaced by a new remote. I was entirely satisfied.
