Comment: This product is aweful. The gear strips, the pad is staionary while the disk spins and this leads to circular scratches on the disk. Compared to the Disk Washer product that I had used for 15 years, this product is junk.

Summary: Great accessory, best I've had.
Comment: One year for a gift I was given just about every Maxell CD accessory there was. Most of them were pretty useless (lens cleaner, disk repair kit, the wipes), but this thing was just incredible. You spray a cleaning solution on the disk and then turn the internal gears so that it is wiped off by a little pad that really does the trick. If you are the kind of person who abuses your cds, or lets them lay around getting dusty every now and then, you should get this. It's under ten dollars and is worth about twenty. It is cheap, so sometimes the gear mechanism is hard to get going, but the cleaning it provides is superior to any product I have ever used before.

Get the maxell CD opener too. I keep it on my keychain. It takes all the hassle out of opening a new cd.

Summary: Handy Gadget to Prevent Skipping
Comment: When my CDs started skipping I thought they has seen the last days of spinning, however this Disc Cleaner has solved all problems. You simply put the CD into the cleaner with the label side down. Then, you spray the disc cleaner to the disc surface. You only apply one even spray of cleaner. Then, you close the case and make sure the lid is totally closed.

Once you have cranked the movable part of the lid about 5 times, you can remove the disc and let it dry completely. Most of the cleaner was absorbed into the cleaning pad after the recommended 5 rotations. I found that 8 or 9 rotations did the trick.

The first time I used this cleaner I was a bit frustrated with it because I noticed little pieces of black foam all over my CDs. Apparently, there is a little piece of foam in the middle that looks like it belongs there and it seems glued down, but once I removed that piece of foam, all was go.

This unit comes with one additional cleaning pad. I think if you are just using this to remove fingerprints, you won't have to replace the cleaning pads very often.

Summary: Worked...but I used up both cleaning pads the first time
Comment: I had a DVD movie disc with a sticky glob of who-knows-what on it. Every time the disc was played, on the DVD player, the distortion and interference worsened. Instead of replacing the disc for (Money), I gave the Maxell Wet DVD Disc Cleaner a try for (Money). It cleaned the disc and there is not any problem, distortion, interruptions etc. what-so-ever with the movie - now. The problem is, I used up both spongy cleaning pads provided. I really don't want to use the pads on another disc, and there are no other pads to purchase...rendering my cleaning kit useless until I can replace the cleaning pads***. MAH

*** I don't feel comfortable washing or cleaning the cleaning pads and reusing the pads on a DVD. First the washing will always leave residue of what ever your washing it with, and whatever is on the pad will remain (even though in very small amounts). The drying out of the pad is a problem as well as concern of altering the synthetic soft nap into a pad that might cause scratches. A soft lintless cloth is hard to find, I've even tried (clean) baby diapers.
