Summary: Works perfectly
Comment: Everything is working flawlessly. It was easy and the included instruction sheet did the trick. I think the only tough part was realizing/believing how sensitive the receiver eye is. I would not normally believe the signal could be received where I have the eye located so there's no interference from the 52" Sony XBR4. But it operates every time.
It's perfectly controlling a Motorola VIP-1200 from AT&T U-verse, which two different Xantech units (one specifically designed to operate without interference from CFL/LCD noise) couldn't reliably do. It's also controlling a Sony 550 Blu-ray player and a Sony 820 AVR.
Clearly this product does what's promised and what a competitor's product couldn't do.
This is a GREAT product with immediate and personalized support -- no canned e-mail responses and no voicemail hell. There's a real person out there who's eager to help.

Summary: Does exactly what I need
Comment: I bought this product to allow me to hide all the gear in a closed cabinet. It works exactly as I expected. The blue LED that illuminates when IR signals are received is also VERY helpful - you now have feedback that your remotes IR signal was received. It makes all the remote responses "snappier". I have a plasma TV and I installed the received on the wall just under the lower edge of the TV - works perfect - no evidence of "plasma interference".
If I have to do the same thing in the bedroom, I will get a second one of these, it is the solution.
Except for pulling wire, it took only a few minutes to set up.

Summary: Hot Link Pro works fine but may require some patience
Comment: From reading the reviews, it cannot be stressed enough that the IR sensor is very sensitive. The manufacturer's website mentions that the 37" Sharp LCD is an issue regarding placement of the IR Sensor. I have a Sharp LC-4264U which seemed to flood the sensor whereever I placed it. The only place the sensor was not being flooded was a cavity in the back of the LCD but then aiming the remote became a game. I have my TV on a counter above 2 cabinets with a wall behind. You could bounce the remote signal off the back wall and it would work about 50 percent of the time. Keeping the sensor un-shielded, I placed it between the seam of 2 cabinet doors, under a kickplate and above a lip of a shelf with no success. What worked for me was to wrap the sensor in 1 layer of electrical tape. Try 2 layers, if the IR noise is too much. Another thing that I noticed was that the sensor would adjust itself when being flooded by IR noise and eventually the blue LED will go dim. If the Blue LED is lit, your remote may work and it may not. Use tape and place the sensor toward the user. With tape, the blue LED will be on solid for about 3 minutes once the TV powers on and then it will go dim and the remotes works great.

Summary: It's not perfect
Comment: I installed the Hot Link pro and it works...more or less. It is very sensitive to interference, the cabinet contains an array of low voltage lighting and the power (or the supply) fully jams the IR side, with the lights off the Hot Link works better but still exhibits erratic sensitivity! Sometimes it works from 30 feet other times we must go stand if front of the detector before it will operate. I had to add some shielded coax to extend the 6' detector lead, that may have made the interference somewhat worse. It is inexpensive but I don't recommend it!
