Summary: Money well spent
Comment: This was an upgrade from an older Onkyo 505 series (no HDMI support. I can't say enough good things about it. Setup was simple and straight forward. Took less than 30 minutes. Came with mic so that I could auto-calibrate surround sound. No problems as of this writing. It is connected to Polk Monitor7 series speakers, PS3 and Sony Bravia. Great and vital addition. Highly recommend this product.

Summary: Best receiver in price rage by far.
Comment: Prior to purchasing this receiver I was running a HTIB Onkyo receiver from about 4-5 years ago. Although rated at 100w/channel it doesn't come near the perfomance of the 805. First off, setup was super easy with the on screen menues. The Audyssey is also a breeze to run and is also very accurate IMO. Everything is crystal clear even at high volumes with Totem Dreamcathcers and Outlaw lfm-2 sub. I have an old progressive Phillips DVD player running through the 805 via component then to my Samsung ln-t4665 and i think it looks good. I don't have a Blu-ray player yet so I cannot coment on any of the new audo formats or 1080p pass through. As far as my HD DVR player I have it hooked straight to my TV and audio to 805 via optical.
In any case, I dont think you will find a receiver that will come in performance and features for this price.

Summary: You may never see reciever for $11.60 per pound agan
Comment: Have owned an Onkyo 901 for many years. Still driving my Axiom's with supurb clarity. You need to be careful at high volumes. The sound is so clean that you will not know how loud it is until you try talk and can't be heard.
Just picked up the Onkyo TX-SR805 as a gift for my favorite nephew. 130 watts per cnannel. In audio, size and weight do matter. This beast weighs over 50 lbs. Got this one for about $11.60 per pound. Shop around online. The best deals on this one require a little digging.

Summary: Still Waiting
Comment: After about 1 week, it lit on fire and stopped working. I returned it with free return shipping (Thank You!!). I told the person at your Warehouse that I would prefer a new one and was told they were out of stock. They would not give me any idea on when they would be getting more in and that they would return the cost to my credit card. Still waiting on confirmation of my returned funds so I could purchase another from a different vendor. I would still prefer another unit!
