Summary: Only 2 days old, but so far BEAUTIFUL
Comment: I saw one report that standard def shows were awful, well that is not the case, at least for me. I set my cable box to output both 1080 and 480p, now the standard shows, sent in 480p, look nearly as good as the 1080... which are gorgeous!!!
I also read a review that the built in speakers put out poor sound. I turned on the new TruSound and it's really nice. I didn't have my receiver connected for the first full day, except for the fact I really missed the rear speakers, I thought the sound was really good. I have difficulty hearing what's said on TV sometimes (I'm getting up in age). But not with this TV, and I don't have to blast it. With the TruSound turned on, it really did give the TV a sense of surround sound without muffling the speaking portion of the sound.
I read about this TV having really bad silk screen affect. Well, If I sit within three feet of the TV, I can see it in some lighting and some shots; but at a reasonable distance from the TV, I can't see it even when I'm looking for it.
My only complaint was the Samsung stand is flimsy on carpet, so I strapped the TV to the wall... I live in Northridge, California :-)
So far the TV is way better than I expected. I really wanted an LCD TV. I have a 37" in my bedroom, so I know how nice they look, but I just couldn't justify the price right now; so I settled. I'm glad I did. The picture is every bid as good as the bedroom TV, the screen doesn't reflect light from inside the room or from the windows, the sound, even without the receiver and added speakers, is really nice. The set is made so that the screen is just about the entire front of the box it's housed in, so there isn't a lot of extra box taking up room. My living room is about 30 feet long and I really wanted a bigger TV, but this TV looks a lot bigger than I was expecting, even though it's replacing an older rear projection TV that also was 61". That box took up so much room, I guess I thought the screen was bigger. This new Samsung actually seems to have a larger viewing screen area.
Bottom line, I'm glad I saved the money and got this TV. If it holds up as well as the one I just replaced, that is not 10 years old, I'll be WAY more than happy.

Summary: Great TV
Comment: I bought the HL61A750 after great deliberation and research, and beleive I made a great choice. The TV has an excellent picture with great brightness, even with a lot of ambient light. There is very little glare/reflection from the screen and the picture is watchable even in direct sunlight. There are a huge number of inputs on the TV making it easy to hook up to almost anything. The delivery service from CEVA was top notch as well.
I was concerned over the viewing angle, but the side to side angle is not an issue. The TV is placed in the center of a 22' wall and can be seen almost anywhere in the room. Be aware though, you need to make sure the TV is set at a reasonable height above the floor (20-22") as the brightness of the image changes dramtically with the up-down veiwing angle.

Summary: I Love my HDTV!!
Comment: Well, after waiting and researching HDTV's for well over a year, I waited for this model to come out because of the LED technology. I watched pricing until I finally saw the price drop on Amazon and got the free white glove shipping. I suggest you watch the shipping because I had to call Amazon and get the shippers information because they never called me even though the tracking information stated that they had contacted me. Anyway, it was pretty easy to straighten out and the shipping company brought it out the next day. I had the stand and everything all set to go and when they brought it out of the box I was amazed at the size. I hooked up my Cable via HDMI and turned it on and was amazed at the picture. Everything checked out OK and the shipping guys left. I have had the TV for about a month with no issues or problems and am extremely happy with the purchase!! Best bang for your buck out there...

Summary: Wow what a great picture
Comment: The set up was easy and the picture spectacular. The family was at first taken back by the 61 inches of screen, but after viewing our favorite movies on it (also purchased a Samsung upconvert dvd player- just as good as blue-ray in my opinion, having seen both on this tv) everyone was amazed at what a clear and colorful picture the Samsung has.
Was delivered and set up for me by the shipping company Amazon uses.
Really a great purchase and we are very pleased with it.

Summary: Best bang for your buck
Comment: This sammy TV with LED technology is a best buy. It eliminated much of the problems with DLP such as short bulb life, this TV is rated for 60,000 hours unlike a typical DLP which is rated 2,000-3,000 hours. Secondly, it has no rainbow effects nor does it take 30-60 seconds to turn on. It takes about 2-4 seconds to turn on.
There are some questions about "bowing" or tilting of the picture (very minimal that only the most discriminating eyes can see). This can be easily fixed by manual "bending" or pressing on the frame. I know that sounds a bit weird to bend the frame (but it really works and my TV which had minimal bowing was fixed in a few seconds with gentle pressure on the frame!)
It works great with the PC, nintendo, DVD, antenna as well as cable (cable is probably the worst but it's likely due to timewarner rather than the TV itself).
I highly recommend this TV. If you have $4000 to burn on a TOP shelf LCD then the (LCD) is definitely going to look a little bit better than this TV and also have no viewing angle issues. This TV as all rear projection TVs have more restrictive viewing angles than a LCD but it's not too bad.
However, at $1750 out the door, it's a huge bargain.
I highly recommend this HDTV.
