Summary: This is one GREAT TV
Comment: I've had this TV for 14 months now, and the picture is still fantastic. I've never had a problem with this tv. No bulb replacements, nothing. regular cable or HD is fantastic. you can't go wrong with this model of the Toshiba.

Summary: Could not be happier. .
Comment: Wow.
I went looking for a TV looking for an obvious bargain. I could not have found a better TV. This TV originally being released late in 2005 can be had for a good deal. If you are buying a TV it's never a bad idea to buy models that are being sold making way for new models. This is a 1080p display TV so it's not like the new models are gonna be THAT much better. Atleast not $1000 better which is probably gonna be the difference in price.
I've been watching some HDTV (discovery and HDnet the 2 channels that broadcast the highest definition signal "1080p") and the quality I get rivals that of some of the dedicated "fancy" 1080p demos you see some of the most expensive models displaying. . Don't fall for that. Stores just do that so they can sell while the price is high. So they'll put a fancy dedicated demo on their newer $5000 and above models. Go for the bargain. At 62 inches and 1080p, this is one BANG for your BUCK tv!!

Summary: Excellent TV
Comment: Originally I was going to purchase the Sony KDS-R60XBR1, I stoped into a local retailer to look around and they had this TV next to the Sony. At first I thought the Toshiba did not have good contrast, but after messing with the contrast & Brightness we got them looking about the same.
To be honest I was worried about the fact that I am still using only Analog Cable (480i). I thought that the picture was going to be grainy... To my delight the picture for most channels is great, I sit approximately 12 feet from the TV, and to me I think its a Great picture, I can hardly wait to get a true Digital image better than 480i. I will warn you tho some channels are better than others, one of the local channels looks like it has a hint of snow...
My old Proscan (RCA) DVD player (circa 1999) casts a great picture through the component hookup, even though its only 480i, and again with a quality DVD like Finding Nemo (I bet you can tell I have kids) it has an awesome picture. My 2 year old son is just mesmorized by it... I leave the picture in native mode for the most part, where the sides are Black, If you stretch a 4x3 picture it becomes grainy... An enlarged picture is ok, but I like a little more head room...
The Remote control was a little awkward at first, and finding that button that I know is there somewhere sometimes gets lost. But after 3 days I am becoming familiar with it.
Apparently the TV I purchased was too large for someone elses living room, it is BIG, REAL BIG, so if you sit closer than 12 feet you might consider a smaller set. Also I had a heck of a time finding an entertainment center that had a TV stand which was 57" or wider. THe TV is approximately 37" x 57".
The picture is Bright, VERY bright, and with a 150W Bulb I put the bulb on low power and it was better for my room. There is a lot of light in my room too, so I was pleasantly surprised. Admittedly at night with the lights off, its still a little hard on the eyes, so a light in the corner is on to help with that.
THere is a known potential problem with original bulbs on certain serial numbers, Toshiba is aware of this and extends the Bulbs warrenty to 2 years if in the range.
In heindsight, I am glad I got this set over the Sony, not only did I save $1000, The Bottom speakers make it much narrower than the Sony (about 9 inches to be exact). The extra 2" larger display is a plus but its not like it matters much on a set of this size.
Overall its an excellent set...
