Comment: I do a lot of work with pictures and graphics, so I wasn't sure I wanted to change my CRT monitor to an LCD monitor. This was a great move. Pictures are sharp and color rendition is very good. This monitor really exceeded my expectations. I just plugged it in and Vista did the rest.

Comment: The image quality and price are great! No noticeable difference between this LCD and my Samsung 226BW that went out after nine months. The Viewsonic was delivered quickly and in excellent condition. The monitor was connected and working within minutes of opening the box.

Summary: Absolutely Terrible Service!!!!!!! Products cannot last longer than one year!
Comment: Just got the ViewSonic monitor for 1 year, and it breaks!!! I called ViewSonic's customer service and tried to reason with them, absolutely terrible customer service! The representatives were very rude, they even hang out on me. Apparently, hanging out on customers is the best way to avoid any "problems" for the customer repensitives. I have such a bad experiences with ViewSonic, I will never purchase any products from them ever again! I think everyone deserves to know about what the company's services are like before their purchase.


Please be aware when you buy any of ViewSonic's products!

Summary: 5 Star monitor with extremely annoying problem.
Comment: Bought this monitor after doing a lot of research on which monitor to get. My first choice was a Samsung 226BW but after reading about quality control issues with the lcd panel on those I decided to go with the Viewsonic since it had the best color reproduction and fast response time.
This monitor is great as long as you keep the dynamic contrast feature off and configure your video card's gamma setting properly(my 8800GT had to be set to 10% gamma). The problem is that dynamic contrast will turn itself back on whenever the monitor goes to standby mode, turned off or changes resolution. The menu will show that it is off but it is actually on since turning it on and off in the menu will then make it actually off. It's very easy to see when its on by looking at skin tones....they look horrible with dynamic contrast turned on.
I bought the 19 inch version to this monitor at the same time and that one does not have this problem. I was going to send the 22 inch back but I'm out of the US and it would cost too much to send back. I've learned to live with the problem and every time I sit at the computer I make sure to turn the dynamic contrast on and back off.

Settings that give me the best picture quality are:
Monitor brigthness = 15
Monitor Contrast = 65
Monitor Dynamic Contrast = Off
Monitor Color Adjust = 6500K
Video Card(Nvidia 8800GT) Gamma = 0% to 10%
Video Card(Nvidia 8800GT) Brightness and Contrast = 50%
